Aesthetic Face Therapy (AFT) by MARIE MAGRO

90 minutes,  £85

Aesthetic Therapy of the face, neck and décolleté area is one of the modern treatments of myofascial massage. It has a great therapeutic, corrective and rejuvenating effect. It makes the muscles more susceptible to modeling and more flexible. MARIE MARGO’s treatment affects connective and muscle tissue on all layers – from the skin to the periosteum (bone surface), as well as on tissue elements such as periarticular tissues, periosteal tissues, and body extensor muscles.

Aesthetic Face Therapy can be used for therapeutic and preventive purposes (problems with tension, degeneration, adhesions, stagnation of blood and lymph, degeneration of various types of tissue) and as an element of comprehensive (systemic) rejuvenation.

During the MARIE MARGO treatment, we are dealing with deep tissue work for the purposes of:

• Releasing of myofascial tension

• Unblocking deep blood and lymph vessels

• Softening the hardened adhesives degenerate tissues

• Rebuilding the contractile capacity of muscles

• Activating the regeneration of these tissues.

The task of Aesthetic Face Therapy is to work on tissues in order to renew them. The rejuvenating effect is achieved thanks to the stimulated tissue regeneration. It should also be taken into account that the visual effect is only a side effect. The main purpose of massage is tissue renewal at the cellular level. Thanks to Aesthetic Face Therapy, the tissues of our body are better oxygenated, and they are provided with the right amount of nutrients and water. The treatment stimulates self-healing processes and helps to cleanse the tissues.

However, these are not its only advantages. Thanks to the treatments, we can help reduce symptoms and support treatment with the following issues:

• migraines, headaches, dizziness, hypertension (improvement in cerebral circulation),

• bruxism, problems with the temporomandibular joint (work on the muscles of the masseter and the temporomandibular joint),

• swelling in the area of the face and head (healthy lymphatic drainage, restoration of lymph flow),

• deep cervical lordosis, degeneration of the cervical spine (we work a lot on the muscles and fascia of the neck),

• no mobility in the rib-sternal joints,

• difficulty breathing and maintaining proper body posture,

• psycho-somatic tensions (vegetative neurosis, anxiety neurosis, depression),

• circulation problems in the eyes,

• chronically blocked sinuses,

• hearing problems

• periodontitis (work on the mandible, gums),

AFT affects the general well-being of the client.

A single treatment takes 90 minutes.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that extends throughout our bodies, surrounding organs and muscle fibres. Physical or emotional trauma can make us tense up and cause our fascia to constrict, creating pain which may be long-standing and difficult to treat. Tests such as MRI or CAT scans don’t show fascial constrictions. If these constrictions are not released properly, the fascia will remain tight, causing discomfort or pain, and may ultimately affect our health by constricting the flow of blood, nutrients and waste throughout our bodies.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a remarkable way of working that can relieve chronic and acute pain and deep-seated tension. It is a specialised physical and manual therapy used for the effective treatment and rehabilitation of soft tissue and fascial aches, pains, tensions and restrictions.

Benefits of Myofascial Release:

  • Reduces pain
  • Enhances blood circulation
  • Boosts nerve function
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Increases ease and range of motion
  • Improves neuromuscular efficiency
  • Decreases effects of stress on the human body

‘Tech Neck’ Massage

45 minutes,  £45

‘Tech Neck’ Massage is a 45-minute treatment concentrating on the upper body, both posterior and anterior, muscles of the upper back, chest, shoulders and of course the neck. I use a variety of techniques from deep tissue massage to stretches, gentle mobilisations and myofascial techniques to help relieve tension and pain and improve mobility. Clients usually point to the posterior of the neck as the main problem. However, anterior muscles shouldn’t be ignored as everything is connected. Here is a short explanation how:

How do we get tech neck?

The physical effects of hunching over tablets and cell phones have led to this chronic condition called tech neck. These days probably we all have some degree of tech neck.

This chronic condition results from hunching forward with rounded shoulders for extended periods of time over a hand-held mobile phone or tablet. Tech neck can also result from holding your head unnaturally far forward to look at a desktop computer monitor.

This unnatural posture, over time, can cause repetitive strain and injury that results in neck pain, shoulder pain, upper back pain, chronic headaches, tingling hands and arms and increased curvature of the spine. The soreness can range from chronic, nagging discomfort to sharp, stabbing, localised pain.

No single muscle gets full credit for tech neck. The muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc., have to work much harder to keep the head up when it’s held pulled forward.

This unnatural forward posture results in overstretched, fatigued muscles at the back of the neck and upper back. In the front of the body, muscles can begin to shorten from being in a slack position for long periods of time.

As muscles tighten, shorten, lengthen and generally remodel themselves into new positions, they can forget their purpose. Our bodies try to make things easier for us, so, if you’re always going into a hunched over position, your muscles will get trained to encourage that position.

With some muscles overworking to achieve a hunched over position, other muscles aren’t firing at all, and that’s when atrophy can creep in.
